In this submission, HRNK focuses its attention on the following issues in the DPRK:

  • The status of the system of detention facilities, where a multitude of human rights violations are ongoing.
  • The post-COVID human security and human rights status of North Korean women, with particular attention to sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).
  • The issue of Japanese abductees and South Korean prisoners of war (POWs), abductees, and unjust detainees.

Internship Application

Successful applicants will undergo a formal interview process before being offered an internship. Applications will be processed on a rolling basis. We strongly recommend that applicants apply at least 3 months prior to their anticipated start date. Internships are typically unpaid, but academic credit is honored. A minimum commitment of 20 working hours per week is preferred. Please upload your documents in the .doc format.
